2. Detailed Information – Cookies

2.1 On our websites, we use so-called cookies in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest in optimizing our website is considered lawful within the meaning of the aforementioned provision. Cookies are small files that are stored on your terminal device (computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. Cookies do not harm your terminal device and do not contain viruses, Trojan horses, or other harmful programs. Cookies collect information that arises each time in connection with the specific terminal device being used. This does not mean that we have direct knowledge of your identity from this information. The use of cookies serves, on the one hand, to provide you with a more convenient browsing experience. For this reason, we use so-called session cookies to recognize that you have already visited certain pages of the website. These are automatically deleted when you leave our website. In addition, we use temporary cookies to facilitate usage, which are stored for a defined period on your terminal device. If you revisit our website to use our services, we automatically recognize that you have visited us before, including the entries/settings you made, so that you do not have to repeat the same actions.

In addition, we use cookies to statistically analyze the use of our website in order to optimize our offerings and to display information specifically tailored to you. These cookies allow us to automatically recognize during a subsequent visit that you have visited our website before. Such cookies are automatically deleted after a predetermined period, which typically does not exceed six (6) months. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you can configure your browser so that cookies are not stored on your terminal device or so that you are continuously prompted before a new cookie is stored. Complete deactivation of cookies, however, may result in the inability to use certain functions of our website.

2.2 Google Analytics

Purposes of Data Processing / Legal Basis:

For the purpose of tailoring and continuously optimizing our websites, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”), based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from the purposes mentioned above. In this context, “pseudo-anonymized” usage profiles are created, and cookies are used. The cookie records the following information regarding the use of this website:

• Browser type/version

• Operating system used

• Referring URL (i.e., the previous page visited)

• Access computer name and IP address

• Time of server request

The information is used to evaluate the usage of our websites, prepare reports on website activities, and provide additional services related to website and internet usage for market research and optimization of the websites according to users’ needs. IP addresses are anonymized so that identification is not possible by deleting one or more digits (so-called IP masking).

You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your web browser settings. However, please note that in this case, it may not be possible to use all functions of this website. Additionally, you can prevent the analysis of data generated by the cookie concerning the use of this website (including IP address) and its processing by Google by downloading and installing the corresponding browser extension for Google Chrome. Alternatively, especially on mobile browsers, you can prevent Google Analytics tracking by selecting this link. This creates an opt-out cookie, which prevents future analysis of your data when visiting this website. The opt-out cookie is valid only in the specific browser and only for our website, and it is stored only on your device. If you delete cookies from the browser, you will need to save the opt-out cookie again. More information on data protection in relation to Google Analytics can be found on the Google Analytics website.

Recipients / Categories of Recipients:

The information generated by the cookie is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Under no circumstances is your IP address merged with other data from Google. These data may also be transmitted to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data under authorization or contract.

Storage Duration / Criteria for Determining the Storage Period:

After the IP address has been anonymized, it is no longer possible to link it to you personally. Data collected for statistical purposes are deleted from Google Analytics after 50 months. Reports based on Google Analytics no longer reference individual persons.

2.3 Website Targeting and Website Optimization

Purposes of Data Processing / Legal Basis:

On our website, information is analyzed and evaluated using cookies to optimize our websites and the advertisements displayed on them. This ensures, in particular, that only ads relevant to your actual or presumed interests, based on your previous behavior, are displayed on your device. The information processed for these purposes may include, for example, details about products you have shown interest in. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Therefore, optimizing our websites to provide a better shopping experience and avoid irrelevant ads serves both our interests and yours. Analysis and evaluation are conducted exclusively in pseudonymous form, and we cannot identify you. Specifically, the information is not merged with your personal data.

Recipients / Categories of Recipients:

Recipients of the data are the aforementioned service providers, who process your data on a contractual basis only for specific purposes and according to our instructions.

Storage Duration / Criteria for Determining the Storage Period:

Cookies used for these purposes and the information contained therein are stored according to the Cookie Policy and are deleted immediately in the event of an objection.

2.4 Re-targeting

Purposes of Data Processing / Legal Basis:

We also use re-targeting technologies from various providers. This allows us to shape our online offerings in an interest-oriented way for you. For this purpose, a cookie is created that collects interest data using a pseudonym. Information regarding browsing behavior is collected for commercial promotion purposes in anonymous form, stored in cookies on your computer, and analyzed via algorithm. Subsequently, targeted product recommendations and personalized banners of our products that match your interests may be displayed on our partners’ websites. Under no circumstances can these data be used to identify the website visitor. No direct personal data are processed, and usage profiles are not merged with personal data. This data processing is carried out under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. With these measures, we ensure that only ads relevant to your actual or presumed interests are displayed on your device. It is in both our interest and yours not to burden you with irrelevant ads.

If, however, you do not wish to see personalized advertisements from the “EUTA” online store, you can object to the collection and storage of this data for the future as follows:

• By clicking on the symbol displayed on each banner (e.g., “i”), you will be directed to the provider’s website, where the re-targeting system is explained, and opt-out options are provided. If you opt out with a provider, an opt-out cookie is stored on your computer, preventing the banner from being displayed in the future. Please note that this opt-out can only be done from your computer, and opt-out cookies must not be deleted. If they are deleted, you must repeat the opt-out process.

• Alternatively, you can use the opt-out options described in Section 7.5 of these data protection terms.

Recipients / Categories of Recipients:

We use re-targeting technologies from various providers who process the aforementioned data within this framework. Further information regarding the cookies used by these providers can be found in the Cookie Policy.

Storage Duration / Criteria for Determining the Storage Period:

Cookies used for re-targeting and the information contained therein are stored according to the Cookie Policy and are automatically deleted thereafter.

2.5 Right to Object (Opt-Out)

You can prevent the re-targeting technologies described in Sections 7.3 and 7.4 by adjusting the cookie settings in your web browser (see also Section 7.1). At the same time, you have the option to block personalized interest-based advertising by using the so-called Preference Manager or by activating the available opt-out cookies.

2.6 Recipients Outside the EU

With the exception of the processing described in Section 7, we do not provide your data to recipients located outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. The processing referred to in Section 7 involves the transfer of data to servers of authorized providers of tracking and targeting technologies. Some of these servers are located in the USA (information on these recipients is available in the respective reports). Data transfers are carried out in accordance with the principles of the so-called Privacy Shield and based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission.
