our mission
We exist to inspire and support people in taking care of their health.
For 40 years, EUTA has placed people at its core and, with allies such as experiential scientific knowledge, research, technology, and the power of nature, has passionately served the advancement of health and well-being for those who trust it.
We aim to be the first choice for everyone who truly cares about improving their health — in the fields of health, wellness, and beauty.
We genuinely care about people, society, and sustainability.
Our uncompromising values
Giving:
Every person who visits our pharmacy, collaborates with us, or shares our purpose inspires us to act with dedication, passion, and genuine care. We are always by the side of those who need us, providing part of personalized solutions that address real needs and create real value. We generously and openly share our experiential and scientific knowledge, as well as our innovative ideas, to support each person’s effort to live a better and more meaningful life.
Acceptance:
We believe in inclusion. We believe empathy makes us all stronger. We believe this world belongs to everyone and that equal opportunities should be given to all. We do not judge; we simply listen with respect and kindness, understanding each person’s unique needs, temperament, and perspectives. We encourage our people to bring their authentic selves every day to a bright, welcoming, open, and fair workplace.
Growth:
We believe knowledge makes things simpler. Creative curiosity and co-creation are, for us, the key pillars of sustainable development and innovation. We continuously learn and evolve, becoming better in the process. We inspire the people we serve and collaborate with to take initiative in their own growth, constantly creating new opportunities, opening new horizons, and adopting fresh approaches to well-being.
The Founder’s Story
A Journey Through Time
1974: In a small village in Kilkis, barely exceeding a hundred inhabitants, a council was convened.
The topic?
The career path of Tahtalidi’s firstborn, Dimitroula. The council’s decision was unanimous and final: Pharmacy.
Dimitroula herself dreamed of studying Engineering or Medicine, but the council didn’t listen.
"Mud, scaffolding, and cement are not for women!"
"You’ll be studying your whole life! When will you have children? When will you start a family?"
This is what Dimitroula heard, and without objection, she crossed the threshold of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
1980: Dimitroula opened her first pharmacy on Melenikou Street, a small alley in eastern Thessaloniki.
Ten years later, she moved to a much larger location on Patriarch Gregorios V Street.
🌿 Her love for nature drew her toward products and formulations based on natural ingredients.
🌿 Her passion for creation led her to establish a small laboratory, which soon grew, modernized, and became her competitive advantage.
🌿 Her love for people inspired her to serve each day with a smile and enthusiasm.
"No medicine was needed, just a smile," she would say to those who wondered why she didn’t sell more.
Throughout this journey, she was guided by three words—the same words that still guide the entire team today.
Inclusion
The term inclusion yields more than 319,000,000 results on Google, with articles on how to achieve it, its importance, and training about it. Without knowing any of this, Dimitroula had a principle: anyone who entered the pharmacy—whether to place a large order or simply ask where the new supermarket was—was equal.
She never discriminated based on nationality, skin color, or sexual preference. And this was not in 2022, but in 1980, when diversity had no place in Greece. Social or economic status didn’t matter either. She wanted everyone who visited to have a wonderful experience—not just to sell, but to delight.
Giving
She gave and continues to give far more than what others ask for. She listens, empathizes, advises. These are the expectations of anyone visiting a pharmacy, and she always did this without expecting anything in return—simply because she felt it was the right thing to do.
Growth
A particularly important word for Dimitroula was growth. She grew up among trees and crops, watching them change, bloom, and flourish every year.
"Do trees grow every year while I stay the same?" she would think.
Having dedicated her entire career to health, she continues to approach this field with natural curiosity, interest, and motivation for new things.
Her dedication and love for people have earned her widespread admiration. She builds lasting relationships that span decades.
2022: Today, Dimitroula has entrusted the management of the organization, under the distinguished title EUTA Efthymiadou - Tahtalidou Pharmacy, to her children:
Paraskevi Efthymiadou & Christos Efthymiadis.
She remains active and an integral part of the team.
